What is Remedial Massage Therapy?
Remedial massage is the assessment and treatment of pain and injuries. It can be used to treat muscle tension and chronic pain. Typical remedial massage therapy will consist of two things; assessment and treatment.
Assessment – First, your remedial massage therapist will give you a comprehensive assessment. This is where they determine what could be causing your pain or discomfort, and how best to treat it. This is assessed through a series of tests including posture and range of movement.
Treatment – Once the area causing the pain has been identified, treatment can begin. Remedial massage includes the treatment of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues. Treatments can include trigger point therapy, neuromuscular techniques, and myofascial release. Your treatment plan will be designed to assist the rehabilitation of your injury and alleviate any pain or discomfort associated with it.
What Does Remedial Massage Treat?
There are many benefits to remedial massage including instant results. Remedial massage is therapeutic and can help your body to reach a level of deep relaxation. Certain massage techniques can cause your body to endorphins and chemicals into your brain. These endorphins and chemicals produce feelings of well being and relaxation.
One of the main reasons people seek remedial massage treatment is to relieve pain and help rehabilitate injured body parts. Remedial massage can be instrumental in the treatment of injuries and pain relief.
Massage therapists can use specific techniques to reduce muscle tension and stimulate the lymphatic system. Remedial massage can also help to increase joint mobility and flexibility, reduce anxiety and depression, and alleviate general aches and pains.
Remedial massage can also be used to treat other common ailments including sciatica, carpal tunnel, stiff necks, and headaches. Contact Back To Front today to book your first session with one of the best remedial massage therapists Brisbane wide.
